Bonjour, c'est Julien
Hi, it's Julien. I'm the founder of online-french-teacher.com. I graduated in Teaching French Foreign Language at the Alliance Française de Paris in 2010 and then taught in private schools (Alliance Française), universities in Slovakia (Political Sciences and Faculty of Economics) and Thailand (Liberal Arts), even in an association (New Zealand) with all levels and all publics, ranging from 7 to 55 years old. Being tech-savvy, I always used internet and computers for my classes. I started to teach French online by the end of 2016 and created www.online-french-teacher.com in 2017
In 2019, I graduated a second Master's degree in teaching French Foreign Language specialized in using informatics.
After my graduation, besides teaching, I often worked as a certified corrector for the DELF/DALF official diplomas which are worldwide recognized. I also efficiently trained numerous students to these exams, as well as to TCF. For these reasons, I teach with credentials and techniques corresponding to the European standards. I teach using relevant textbooks, short videos, music and classes I prepare depending on your specific needs. I work with the 4 skills: listening, reading, writing and speaking. For online French classes, it made sense to focus more on oral expression and understanding during the class and keep writing and reading training for homeworks.
I speak English, Spanish, Creole and I'm an average Russian speaker (B1). I also have some basic knowledge in Thai, German and Russian sign language. This learning experience combined with long expatriation experiences in several countries helped me to realize what difficulties learners can face and which elements of the speech are really necessary to interact in a meaningful and effective way.
The last internship I did was at Monash University (Monash University is part of the top 100 university in the world). Here's the feedback I got from the person in charge of me.
It was a great pleasure to work with Julien for this one-to-one tutoring program which offers a great opportunity to engage with a native-speaker in an informal setting.Julien is very professional, well organised and reliable. He is an experienced and knowledgeable teacher who is very confident in the online teaching and learning environment, and in dealing with technical challenges. He was able to adjust to students’ individual levels and needs and was highly regarded for providing engaging real-life activities, for his patience, the clarity of his explanations, his ability to put students at ease and boost their confidence in speaking French.
On top of the tutoring sessions, Julien has provided high-quality general video feedback to the students and has reported on students’ progress in weekly meetings with me.
Julien’s contribution was an added-value to the Introductory level students at Monash University.
I have no hesitation recommending Julien for similar projects which would definitely benefit any educational institutions.
